Optus takes 4G fight to TelstraMay 20, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Singtel Optus intends to extend its fourth generation (4G) mobile footprint to 70 per cent of Australia's metropolitan population by mid-2014. The company has begun testing a new variant of 4G, known as a "time-division long-term evolution" network, in Canberra. The trial will be expanded to 12 sites. The purpose of the trial is to determine the most suitable partner for the national 4G tender.
