About People for Monday, May 20May 20, 2013 (La Crosse Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Awards Molly Wangen-Becker received the Director's Award Scholarship and the BBDO Scholarship from the School of Jounalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota. Wangen-Becker is a 2010 graduate of Central High School. Nickalas Tabbert received the Fred and Lucille Kildow Scholarship from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnsota. Tabbert is a 2010 graduate of West Salem High School. Kayla Sullivan received the Brad Johnson Scholarship and the Carol Ladwig Scholarship from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota. Sullivan was a 2010 graduate of Holmen High School. Chief Nursing Officer Evie Chapman received the Rural Helath Ambassador Award from the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. She was among a select group of health care professionals in Wisconsin recognized for making a significant contribution to rural health and the local community. UW-La Crosse's Biology Department received the 2013 University of Wisconsin System Regents Teaching Excellence Award for academic departments and programs. The award goes to one program as well as two professors in the UW System. Former La Crosse resident Monte S. Johnson will receive the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award, which recognizes distinguished service to the community, state or nation in a manner that brings credit upon the recipient and the university. Johnson is a 1976 graduate of Central High School. He graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 1980 with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting. He is now the vice president and chief financial officer at Cymbet Corp. Viterbo University announced Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year Awards. Vicente Guilot, associate professor of world languages and cultures, was named Viterbo's 2013 Teacher of the Year. Gene Alberts, assistant vice president of finance, was named Employee of the Year. Others honored at the Rose Awards were: --Chris Sanger, Sister Helen Elsbernd Distinguished Service Award. --AJ Myer, Alec Chiu Award. --Lesley Stugelmayer, Father J.
