NTA, AIT, Others Begin Broadcast of GLO X Factor(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), African Independent Television (AIT) and other selected television stations will this weekend begin the broadcast of the X Factor show, the world's biggest singing reality TV show, brought to Africa for the first time by telecom giant, Globacom. A statement from Globacom said highlights of the auditions held in Nigeria and Ghana will be broadcast on Saturday on AIT at 7-8 p.m., Silverbird Television (STV) at 8.30-9.30 p.m. and Wale Adenuga Production Television (WAP TV) at 4-5 p.m. NTA and Ghana's Viasat will also broadcast the programme on Sunday at 5-6 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. respectively, the statement added. Auditions for the show have so far been held in Port Harcourt and Abuja in Nigeria as well as in Kumasi and Accra in Ghana. Lagos auditions are scheduled for the 25th and 26th of May. With the programme going on air, Globacom noted, entertainment lovers will be able to see all the exciting highlights of the battle by thousands of aspiring singers to make the final stages of the competition that will see the winner going home with a N24 million cash prize. The winner will also get a recording contract with Sony Music for the recording of an album and professional management of the winning individual or group. Globacom explained that after the broadcast of the auditions, television viewers will also have the opportunity to follow other aspects of the show, including the Booth Camp and Live Shows, on the same television channels on the stated days and time schedules. Since arriving in Africa, X Factor has generated a lot of buzz and excitement with thousands of people, young and old, male and female, vying to be part of the history Globacom is making with the show.
