Incase Receives U.S. Patent for Camera Ring Feature on Cases for Portable ElectronicsMay 20, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Incase announced that it has been issued U.S. Patent No 8,442,604 for the invention of a flash-suppressing camera ring that is integrated into the design of cases for mobile devices with built-in camera flashes. According to a release, Incase first introduced this feature on cases for iPhone 4. The Incase patent applies broadly to cases for all smartphones and portable electronic devices with a camera hole cutout that includes edging in black or a dark color to prevent glare from appearing in photos or videos when using the camera flash feature on the device.
