BRIEF: El Paso County Sheriff: Bomb threat to local night club was hoaxMay 18, 2013 (El Paso Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A false bomb threat at a local night club in East El Paso on Saturday resulted in an evacuation of its patrons and the response of several law enforcement agencies. At about 1:24 a.m., El Paso County Sheriff's responded to a call about a bomb threat at an adult entertainment business at the 13200 block of Gateway West. When deputies arrived, they evacuated the business and secured the building. The Fort Bliss Bomb Squad, the Horizon Fire Department, the El Paso Police Department and Life Ambulance assisted in the investigation. Law enforcement officials determined that the telephone call was made from a pay phone from a convenience store on Montwood and George Dieter. The caller, who was only identified as a man, had said the bomb was to go off within an hour of the initial call, deputies said. After searching the building, the Fort Bliss Bomb Squad determined that there were no explosives. Officials are asking that anyone with information regarding the hoax bomb threat contact the El Paso County Sheriff's Office at 546-2280 or submit an anonymous tip. Anonymous tips may also be submitted via text to 847411 with the keyword EPCSO. ___ (c)2013 the El Paso Times (El Paso, Texas) Visit the El Paso Times (El Paso, Texas) at www.elpasotimes.com Distributed by MCT Information Services |
