[May 17, 2013] FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell to Join Hudson Institute Tweet May 17, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Hudson Institute announced that Commissioner Robert McDowell will become a Visiting Fellow at the Hudson Institute when he leaves the Federal Communications Commission. According to a release, McDowell has served at the Federal Communications Commission since 2006. He will be affiliated with the Center for the Economics of the Internet at the Hudson Institute, directed by Senior Fellow Harold Furchtgott-Roth, himself a former commissioner. "My colleagues and I are excited to add Commissioner McDowell's deep knowledge and insight of telecommunications policy to our team," said Hudson President and CEO Kenneth Weinstein. "A healthy, innovative Internet and wireless industry is vital to America's future prosperity." Prior to joining the FCC, McDowell was senior vice president for the Competitive Telecommunications Association and served as the executive vice president and general counsel of America's Carriers Telecommunications Association.
