BRIEF: Wilton police make arrests in Food City burglary

WILTON, May 16, 2013 (Sun Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Police say they arrested two men Wednesday following a burglary and theft of alcohol and cigarettes from Food City.

Nathan Pomeroy, 19, of Wilton and David Sarti, 19, of Henderson, Nev., were charged with felony burglary, police Chief Heidi Wilcox said. Sarti is staying at a home in Wilton.

Police responded to an alarm at the Main Street grocery story at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, she said. Officer Andrew Hardy found the front doors had been broken into. He was assisted by Sgt. Michael Adcock of the Farmington Police Department.

Alcohol and cigarettes, valued at about $120, was taken from the store, Wilcox said. During the day, Wilton Sgt. Chad Abbott continued the investigation and was led to the pair by video surveillance at the store, she said.

Both are expected to make a court appearance Thursday, according to an officer at Franklin County Detention Center.
