LightRiver enters into agreement with ABB Tropos Wireless Communication Systems

LightRiver Technologies, Inc., a provider of multi-technology communications networks, entered into an agreement with ABB Tropos Wireless Communication Systems, a provider of power and automation technologies, to offer Tropos IP wireless mesh solutions to the utility market.
As an Elite Reseller of Tropos Utility Networking Solutions, LightRiver will, with ABB, provide a network foundation to enable smarter grids, ensuring the reliability of modern power systems.
This partnership gives the utility community a suite of Substation Automation communications solutions, from a single source, for the design, engineering and commissioning of integrated, standards-based, switched and routed transport and AMI infrastructure that reaches from the core to the edge, whether on fiber or through wireless mesh, for backbone transport, video surveillance, or Distribution Automation, LightRiver said.
