Samsung breaks speed barrier

May 14, 2013 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Samsung has developed technology that could significantly increase access rates for mobile telephones. The fifth-generation (5G) technology may be available by 2020, and could provide access speeds of up to 1,000 megabits per second. Jamil Khan of the University of Newcastle notes the limitations of the laboratory research, and says Australian consumers would be unlikely to enjoy similar access speeds when the technology becomes available.
