Hughes signs Russian distribution partner


May 14, 2013 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- EchoStar Corp. (NASDAQ: SATS) subsidiary Hughes Network Systems, LLC said it has signed Morsviazsputnik, the licensed operator of Inmarsat's mobile satellite services in Russia, as a Distribution Partner for Hughes BGAN mobile satellite products.

Hughes designs and manufactures a full line of mobile satellite terminals that operate over Inmarsat's Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN), serving a wide range of mobile workers who need reliable, high-speed connectivity on-the-move, such as emergency first responders, public safety workers, reporters, mobile healthcare technicians and remote field personnel. In addition, Hughes designs and manufactures IP satellite terminals for SCADA and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications operating over the BGAN service for industry sectors such as environmental monitoring, SmartGrid, pipeline monitoring, compressor monitoring, well site automation, video surveillance and out-of-band management to primary site communications.
