Sonus Networks reports higher Q1 net loss, provides outlook for Q2


May 13, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Sonus Networks, Inc., a provider of networked solutions for communications service providers, has reported that net loss for the first quarter ended March 29, 2013 was $13.75 million, or $0.05 loss per share, compared to a net loss of $6.44 million, or $0.02 loss per share, for the same quarter ended March 30, 2012. For the second quarter of 2013, the company expects total revenue in the range of $66 million to $68 million.

Total revenue for the first quarter ended March 29, 2013 was $63.29 million, compared to $64.34 million for the same quarter ended March 30, 2012.

Loss from operations for the first quarter ended March 29, 2013 was $13.47 million, compared to $6.2 million for the same quarter ended March 30, 2012.


Total assets as of March 29, 2013 were $454.89 million, compared to $471.32 million, as of December 31, 2012.

For fiscal 2013, the company expects diluted earnings per share to be in the range of $0.00 to $0.01. For fiscal 2013, the company expects total revenue to be in the range of $267 million to $271 million.
