SecureIT awarded Cloud Computing Security Contract from EDCReston, VA, May 12, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- SecureIT, a leading provider of cybersecurity services for government agencies, corporations and nonprofit organizations, announced it was selected by Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) to help ensure its IT security compliance with requirements of its federal contracts and grants. EDC is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to improving education, health, and international development. EDC conducts 250 projects in more than 30 countries. SecureIT worked with EDC to develop an IT strategy using cloud computing to meet its business and security obligations while supporting EDC business goals such as increased mobility and resource efficiency. SecureIT will develop a plan and assist EDC to implement the solution to meet NIST requirements leveraging existing automated capabilities both internally, and from its trusted business partners. The solution will leverage a cloud environment authorized under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). The FedRAMP program was established to provide a standard approach to assessing and authorizing cloud computing services and products. SecureIT has been an active participant in the FedRAMP program through its involvement in security industry associations such as ISACA and ACT-IAC.
