(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) To provide high-speed satellite broadband to the more or less 90,000 homes that remain unserved by broadband networks in rural areas of the country a contract with Slovenia's Telekom Slovenije is declared by Eutelsat Communications. With the help of small (77cm) satellite dish and modem the new consumer satellite broadband service provided by Eutelsat's KA-SAT satellite will operate.

Eutelsat's KA-SAT has a overall capacity of 90 Gbps for satellite-delivered broadband services across Europe and the Mediterranean Basin. The satellite is part of a communications infrastructure that contains an on-ground network of eight main openings through Europe joined to the Internet by a fiber backbone ring.

Simon Furlan, director of marketing at Telekom Slovenije said in a statement said, "High speed internet access has become an essential service for consumers, providing access to education, entertainment and public services. This agreement ensures that our customers, wherever they live in the country, will be able to access reliable, high speed broadband services .
