According to a release, Landstar was presented with the top award in the Intermediary Category for third party logistics providers with over $1 billion in gross annual revenue. The award is based on criteria that includes a willingness and ability to commit resources to security, standard operating procedures and best practices as well as the extent of utilization of, and support for, the CargoNet program, according to CargoNet. "Landstar's accomplishments in cargo security are particularly impressive, given that it hauled more than 1.5 million loads last year," said Anthony Canale, general manager, CargoNet.
