Top Scholarship Provider in Minnesota Announces 2013 Awards
MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)--
Minnesota Masonic Charities (MMC) proudly announces the recipients of
its 2013 Scholarship Programs. As part of its continuing commitment to
building a better future for Minnesota, the nonprofit organization
provides annual scholarships to some of the state's most promising
scholars.
Since 2006, the charity has provided $2.5 million for the continued
education of more than 2,700 Minnesota students. In 2012 alone, MMC
distributed a total of $554,160 to 425 new and renewal scholarship
recipients.
"Scholarship funding has always been a high priority for Minnesota
Masons," said Eric Neetenbeek, Minnesota Masonic Charities president and
CEO. "Our annual scholarship awards represent an ongoing commitment to
support the bright futures of Minnesota youth and to honor the values of
Masonry."
MMC offers three merit-based scholarships: Signature, Legacy and
Heritage, that are made available on an equal opportunity basis, with no
discrimination for age, gender, religion, national origin or Masonic
affiliation. Awards range from $2,500 to $5,000 per year, and students
may renew their scholarship awards annually, provided they maintain
scholastic performance.
