Modulo Participates at Offshore Technology Conference 2013 [Health & Beauty Close - Up]

(Health & Beauty Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Modulo, a provider of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions, announced the company's presence at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2013 being held this week in Houston, Texas.

According to a release, OTC is a foremost event for the development of resources in the fields of offshore drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection. The conference attracts over 80,000 attendees and is sponsored by 13 technical societies that cover all aspects of the energy industry. Modulo will participate in the Brazilian Pavilion exhibit, organized by the Brasil IT+ initiative, an initiative promoting the Brazilian Information Technology sector globally.

Many energy companies - including those in the Oil & Gas and Electrical Power Utilities sectors - are looking to improve corporate governance by assessing their IT systems and processes to align with company business objectives as well as to demonstrate compliance with multiple regulatory bodies and requirements. A number of these organizations are turning to Modulo Risk Manager to automate and assess compliance with different frameworks and regulations - including COBIT, ISO 17799/27002, ISO 27001 and SOX - in order to reduce audit costs and cycle time and eliminate redundant audits and controls.

Modulo noted that it also provides a framework for integrating Cybersecurity, Physical and Operational risk management programs - required in critical infrastructure environments such as SCADA - and for providing conformity with the NERC CIP standard. Modulo enables organizations to map their assets, both IT and non-IT, to business processes to gain a harmonized, real-time view into risk and compliance across the enterprise, including partners and vendors. Risk analytics and key risk indicators help CISOs, CIOs, CSOs, CPOs and CROs implement a risk-based approach to business decisions.
