Teradyne reports lower Q1 net income, provides guidance for Q2


May 07, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Teradyne, Inc., a developer and supplier of automatic test equipment, has reported that net income for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013 was $6.59 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, compared to $33.56 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, for the same quarter ended April 1, 2012. The company expects revenue for the second quarter of 2013 to be in the range of $380 million to $420 million.

Net revenues for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013 were $280.37 million, compared to $396.67 million for the same quarter ended April 1, 2012.

Income from operations for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013 was $4.41 million, compared to $46.41 million for the same quarter ended April 1, 2012.


Gross profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013 was $153.42 million, compared to $190.93 million for the same quarter ended April 1, 2012.

The company expects non-GAAP net income per diluted share to be in the range of $0.26 to $0.36 and GAAP net income per diluted share to be in the range of $0.12 to $0.20 for the second quarter of 2013.
