Mentor Graphics's embedded ATP compliant with Yocto Project 1.3 and GENIVI 3.0

May 06, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Mentor Graphics Corporation has integrated the MontaVista Automotive Technology Platform, or ATP, with the Mentor's Embedded Infotainment Base Platform and Sourcery CodeBench and Sourcery Analyzer development tools. The new Mentor's Embedded ATP is fully compliant with Yocto Project 1.3 and GENIVI 3.0, and will continue to track and support upcoming GENIVI versions.

By using the LLTng (Linux Trace Toolkit Next Generation)-enabled ATP automotive Linux platform, embedded developers can now easily visually analyze and debug complex interactions between the Linux OS and automotive application software with the Mentor Embedded Sourcery Analyzer, Mentor Graphics said.

With the Yocto Project 1.3-compliant ATP platform, Tier One Suppliers and OEMs can easily customize and configure the Linux kernel and select the right components for a Linux-based IVI system. GENIVI 3.0 compliance and support for the Freescale i.MX 6 and Renesas R-CAR H1 hardware platforms provides Tier Ones and OEMs with an optimum and standard set of automotive components to support the development of IVI systems.

In addition, Tier One suppliers and OEMs can benefit from driver and BSP enhancements that include video and audio improvements for multimedia applications that are a critical element of IVI systems, Mentor Graphics added.

"Automotive Tier One suppliers and OEMs can optimize hardware performance and take advantage of an expanded automotive-grade middleware in this new and combined Mentor Embedded Automotive Technology Platform," said Mark Mitchell, general manager of Mentor Graphics Open Source Embedded Solutions.
