Autobytel Reports New Car Videos Top 15 Million YouTube Views

May 01, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Autobytel Inc. announced new car videos featured at the Autobytel YouTube Channel have reached more than 15 million views, up from 10 million views in December 2012, demonstrating that video content is essential for consumers during the online car shopping and research process.

According to release, launched in December 2011, the Autobytel YouTube channel features over 500 new car videos and more than 19,000 subscribers, with video views reaching 15,470,151 as of April 26.

Jeffrey Coats, President and CEO of Autobytel, says that because today's car buyers are less brand loyal and relatively undecided about which vehicle to buy up until the last week before purchase, video content has become a critical tool in helping consumers narrow down their choices.

"Our data shows that over 50 percent of consumers switch from one brand to the next even after they submit a quote request to buy a particular vehicle," said Coats. "Up until the week they sign on the dotted line, today's car buyers are active shoppers who want video content to help them make the right decision, which is why Autobytel offers hundreds of quality new car videos online. And that's why we advise dealers to offer their Internet customers links to videos featuring new, used or CPO inventory, to give them as many relevant options as possible during the buying process." Autobytel Inc. offers consumer purchase requests, or leads, and marketing resources to car dealers and manufacturers and provides consumers with the information they need to purchase cars.
