Grizzlies sign contract for broadcast rights [Belleville News-Democrat](Belleville News-Democrat (IL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) April 30--SAUGET -- The Gateway Grizzlies announced Monday they have signed a one-year contract with Grand Slam Sports to air all Grizzlies games in 2013. Weekday games in 2013 will air on KXFN 1380-AM, while weekend games will be on KFNS 590-AM. The 2013 season will mark the fourth year of Grizzlies games on 590. "We are excited to have our games on a reliable signal in the St. Louis market again," Grizzlies General Manager Steve Gomric said. "It gives our fans a resource to keep close tabs on the Grizzlies when they can't attend games in person, especially when the team's on the road." Grizzlies play-by-play broadcaster Adam Young returns for his third season as the team's lead broadcaster on the Grizzlies Radio Network. "This is a good opportunity once again for the Grizzlies," Young said. "We are looking forward to working with the folks at 1380 and 590 this season. We'll put a great product on the radio so fans will be informed and entertained." Game broadcasts will once again be offered online by clicking the listen live tab at www.gatewaygrizzlies.com. Meanwhile, KFNS offers Grizzlies fans the chance to listen to the weekend games on the KFNS app on their cell phones. KJFF 1400-AM in Festus, Mo., stays as the affiliate station on the Grizzlies Radio Network. KJFF will air nearly all 96 Grizzlies games once again in 2013. The Grizzlies open their season on May 17 against the Lake Erie Crushers. The first broadcast on the Grizzlies Radio Network will be an Exhibition game on Saturday, May 11, when the Grizzlies host the River City Rascals at 12:05 p.m. That game will air on KFNS. The Grizzlies 2013 home opener is on May 21 when they take on the Joliet Slammers at GCS Ballpark. Single game, season and group tickets are on sale now.
