Vello Systems Data Center Gateway Achieves EMC E-Lab Qualification

MENLO PARK, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Vello Systems, the pioneer in open networking solutions, announced today that the Vello CX networking system has been qualified by EMC (News - Alert)® E-Lab™, for EMC VPLEX® Metro, EMC VMAX®, and EMC VNX® storage systems. The E-Lab qualification opens the way for customers with Vello's (News - Alert) networking systems to support continuous availability and disaster recovery for mission-critical applications in EMC VPLEX, VMAX and VNX storage systems environments.

EMC E-Lab is the industry gold standard for server, networking and storage interoperability. The extensive qualification testing performed in EMC E-Lab gives customers confidence that E-Lab qualified Vello solutions will integrate seamlessly with EMC systems. In addition, EMC E-Lab creates and publishes its extensive knowledge of complete environments and individual components of successful solutions.

"We are very pleased that Vello CX is qualified by EMC E-Lab," commented Karl May (News - Alert), CEO of Vello Systems. "The Vello CX networking system, used in combination with EMC's industry-leading VPLEX, VMAX and VNX storage systems, allows customers to build highly flexible, cost-effective and continuously available connectivity between storage clusters while significantly reducing complexity."

The EMC E-Lab qualification of Velo CX for EMC VPLEX Metro makes available a comprehensive solution that gives storage administrators tighter control of their storage federation and replication flows between their distributed data centers. With Vello's open, programmable operating system, VellOS, and the deterministic performance of the Vello CX, customers can achieve data mobility and continuous availability along with point-in-time data protection.

Inclusive of prior qualification, the Vello CX supports the following EMC virtual storage and data replication solutions:

  • EMC VPLEX Metro (Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over IP and native IP)
  • EMC RecoverPoint
  • EMC Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF) software, including synchronous (SRDF/S) and asynchronous (SRDF/A)
  • EMC Open Replicator

Collaborative Customer Support
EMC and Vello also have a Cooperative Support Agreement, enabling Vello and EMC to work together to provide seamless support to joint customers. Vello has also joined TSANet, (www.tsanet.org), the nonprofit organization that brings together many of the world's leading technology companies to work together to provide responsive collaborative support for multivendor customer networks.
