Boston First UK Company to Launch High Availability SQL Cluster Appliance in Partnership with SIOS, Supermicro and Fusion-IOApr 26, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Boston Limited, now in its 18th year as distribution partner for Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), is delighted to unveil the high performance SuperSQL Cluster Appliance for the first time in the UK at SQLBITS XI. For more information please visit Boston on SIOS's booth at the East Midlands Conference Centre from 3-4 May 2013. The SuperSQL Cluster Appliance has been developed by SIOS Technology, Supermicro and Fusion-io to create a high performance, high availability server platform. Fully integrated with SIOS' DataKeeper Cluster Edition (DKCE) software and Fusion ioMemory products in a single chassis, dual-node Supermicro 2U Twin SuperServer, the SuperSQL Cluster delivers outstanding performance with data protection. SIOS' robust data replication software DKCE arms the new SuperSQL Cluster with higher data availability and increased performance. Synchronous data replication, resulting in zero data loss, has less than 10% overhead, which is significantly better than alternative solutions whose performance impact can be in excess of 60%. High capacity ioMemory products from Fusion-io deliver increased low-latency data performance. In addition, Supermicro's 2U Twin server based appliance uses 10/40GbE network interface cards to provide ultra-low latency data mirroring for the database instances, as well as high-speed data transport between cluster nodes. Mr Manoj Nayee, managing director of Boston Limited, says "As Supermicro's longest serving technology partner, we are delighted to be selected as the first company to offer the SuperSQL Cluster Appliance to customers in the UK and Europe. Based on Supermicro's ultra-dense 2U Twin architecture, the SuperSQL Cluster Appliance features two independent nodes per system and offers the highest levels of efficiency, reliability and flexibility through its shared resource architecture. With support for SIOS' DKCE and Fusion-io accelerated storage memory technologies, Boston is able to deliver the most cost-effective high-speed data replication solution on the market for mission critical database applications." "Working closely with Supermicro and Fusion-io, We have created a compelling offering that provides the benefits of a cluster without the complexity of a SAN in a cost-effective, single unit SKU," said John Banfield, SIOS EMEA Sales Director. "Now with the added support offered by leading Supermicro reseller Boston Limited, customers across the UK and surrounding regions will be given the opportunity to access the benefits of the high performance SuperSQL Cluster Appliance while benefiting from Boston's years of experience as a distributer and manufacturer of high performance IT solutions." The SuperSQL Cluster Appliance supports any edition of Microsoft SQL Server, including the cost-effective Standard Edition. High-density and low-power environments will greatly benefit from the SuperSQL Cluster appliance. This includes data centers, industrial process controls, small offices and web proxy and cache servers. Boston will be unveiling the SuperSQL Cluster at SQLBITS XI, East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, from 3-4 May.
