Major Korean Cable TV Broadcasting Center Selects ATEME to Improve Video Quality with Fast Speed Transcoding
PARIS --(Business Wire)--
ATEME,
a global leader in advanced video compression solutions for the
broadcast industry, announced today that CJ
Powercast, a major Korean digital broadcasting service, has selected
the ATEME TITAN
software platform to reduce complex workflow issues as part of its
Video on Demand (VOD) and Catch-up TV content preparation services.
NEWS FACTS:
-
As a member of the CJ Entertainment Group, a well-known media
conglomerate based in Seoul, Korea, CJ Powrcast hosts 62 cable TV
channels and provides post-production and digital content warehouse
services.
-
The company receives VOD assets in all types of formats including the
Material eXchange Format (MXF). This is a common container format for
professional digital video and audio media that is defined by a set of
SMPTE standards. The company has a recurring need to stitch 3-4 of
these 15-20 minute MXF files into a consistent one-hour video asset, a
time-consuming, labor-intensive process.
-
By incorporating ATEME's TITAN software platform, the company now has
the ability to complete these tasks automatically within the
transcoding process, with no quality alteration at the stitching
points and without human intervention.
SUPPORTING QUOTES: Jeon ByungWoo, CJ Powercast manager,
media platform business service operation team: "Since
incorporating TITAN into our workflow, we have increased efficiency and
reduced labor costs by automating many of the time-consuming tasks
associated in content preparation."
Eunsook Wi, ATEME APAC operations manager: "We are proud to
be able to assist CJ Powercast in streamlining this large-scale
operation with our TITAN product. Since deploying the software, the
company has launched the file delivery service to a number of cable and
