PT inaugurates Technical Training and Certification Centre in the Azores(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 19 April 2013 Release date- 16042013 - PT will certify annually up to 100 technicians in the Training and Certification Centre of the Azores and opens the doors of the Centre to the students of the School of New Technologies of the Azores. Portugal Telecom (PT) opened on 15 April the Technical Training and Certification Centre of the Azores, in Ponta Delgada. PT's bet reflects its commitment to invest in the region, stimulating economic development and job creation. The goal is to certify, on average, up to 100 field-force technicians a year at the Centre, with the possible renewal of certification every two years through monthly performance review. In this way, it is guaranteed that the technicians have skills adjusted to their professional requirements, taking an important step to raise the levels of quality of service and efficiency of the technicians on the ground. Technical certification in telecommunications, for PT employees and service providers, is mandatory and is based on a process of training and evaluation. A real environment is reproduced in the Certification Centre, where technicians are able to apprehend behavioural, procedural and technical processes with a clear objective: to ensure the highest quality of service and continuous customer satisfaction. Protocol with the School of New Technologies of the Azores On the day of opening of the Training and Certification Centre, attended by Francisco Nunes, Managing Director, PT established also a protocol with the School of New Technologies of the Azores (ENTA). Students of the professional and/or technological specialization courses, levels 4 and 5, from ENTA, will now, under this Protocol concluded with PT, deepen, consolidate and certify their academic background in a labour environment at PT. The Protocol aims to establish the foundations for collaboration between PT and ENTA in the field of integration of young people starting their professional activity. Within the framework of PT's internship programs, the students of ENTA can take up to three annual professional internships in national or international operations. PT's excellence recognized internationally PT's investment in training and certification, based on the assumption of technical excellence, was recently recognized in the framework of the 7th Edition of the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service, that distinguish the successes achieved at international level in the areas of customer service and sales. In this edition, PT was recognized as the telecommunications company with the best customer service, in the scope of the People's Choice Stevie Awards, having also received a Gold Award and two Silver Awards.
