Points of Light Announces Adam Grant, Bill O'Reilly and Melissa Harris-Perry as Part of Speaker Lineup for June Conference on Volunteering and ServiceWASHINGTON --(Business Wire)-- Points of Light, the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, announced today the first round of featured speakers for its annual Conference on Volunteering and Service. Author and Wharton professor Adam Grant, political commentators Bill O'Reilly and Melissa Harris-Perry, former U.S. Army soldier and actor J.R. Martinez, and former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove (News - Alert) are among the confirmed presenters. The conference will be held June 19 through June 22, 2013 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The theme of this year's Conference on Volunteering and Service will be "Service Unites." More than 5,000 attendees will exchange ideas during over 150 interactive workshops designed to inspire and mobilize people to get involved in solving critical problems. This year's sessions are organized into 13 topic areas: Business, Economic Opportunity, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Excellence in Education, Faith, Global, Leadership, National Service, Nonprofit Capacity Building, Service Innovation, Veterans and Military Families, Volunteer Management, and Youth Service and Leadership. "For a few days in June, thousands of people will come to Washington, D.C. to share all that's innovative and important in the world of volunteer service," said Michelle Nunn, CEO of Points of Light.
