ACT-IAC Institute for Innovation Appoints Andrew Robinson as ChairFAIRFAX, Va. --(Business Wire)-- The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC (News - Alert)) today announced that Andrew Robinson, SVP of ICF, has been appointed Chair of the Institute for Innovation Advisory Board. ACT-IAC created the Institute for Innovation in 2012 to provide "an objective and non-partisan forum for strategic thought leadership to advance government missions through the innovative application and management of information technology." The Institute undertakes a limited number of projects annually to address game-changing issues with a high strategic impact on government and industry. Criteria for selecting projects include issues that affect multiple government business functions and/or organizations and issues where government and industry collaboration can add value to the outcome. The need for the Institute was demonstrated by work that ACT-IAC did for te Department of Veterans Affairs on the VistA health care system and for OMB on the sustainability of Federal financial management systems. In 2012 the Institute produced a series of reports for the incoming Administration. Topics addressed by the Institute included budget deficit reduction, health care, STEM and citizen driven government. The Institute is funded through contributions from private-sector companies who choose to become members of the Institute's Innovator Circle and by not-for-profit organizations who support the activities of the Institute as Research Partners. The Innovator Circle serves as an Advisory Board overseeing the activities of the Institute. Mr. Robinson, who will serve as the chair of the Advisory Board, is a long-time leader of ACT-IAC. It was during his term as IAC Chair in 2010-2011 that the initial work to create the Institute began. ICF International (News - Alert) was one of the founding members of the Institute.
