Appcara Adds CA AppLogic® Support to AppStack, Helping Speed Time to Value in the Cloud

MILPITAS, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Appcara today announced that its flagship AppStack® cloud application management platform now supports CA AppLogic®, a turnkey cloud platform, as part of a significant AppStack product enhancement delivered today. This represents yet another major supported platform for AppStack, and allows enterprises and service providers running CA (News - Alert) AppLogic cloud platforms to speed time to value for an even broader range of cloud applications and infrastructure.

Industry analysts and CIOs alike agree that effective cloud management requires new and better tools that expedite both service provider and enterprise deployments than most DevOps groups presently have available in house. With its addition of CA AppLogic support, AppStack broadens the range of applications that enterprises and service providers can quickly deploy on their CA AppLogic cloud infrastructure. With AppStack and CA AppLogic, users dramatically expedite deployment of cloud applications and manage them efficiently across their life cycle, with:

  • Simple point-and-click on-boarding and lifecycle management to accelerate applications into AppLogic via the AppStack portal
  • A rich enterprise App Marketplace stocked with over 80 pre-packaged applications with categories including Big Data apps such as Hadoop
  • Easy publishing of new commercial or open-source cloud apps through the AppStack App Marketplace Publisher
  • Quick-launch for enabling fast application provisioning into CA AppLogic in just three clicks
  • Comprehensive multi-cloud support, allowing CA AppLogic users to swiftly move cloud Workloads from an even wider range of non-CA public and private clouds into CA AppLogic

"For customers to take full advantage of the growing range of cloud provisioning alternatives open to them, they need a streamlined way of both deploying applications workloads to any of those alternative environments - and managing them once they're there," said Adam Famularo, senior vice president, CA AppLogic business unit, CA Technologies. "Appcara's (News - Alert) AppStack helps CA AppLogic customers fulfill these twin objectives by providing a reliable, uniform and well-automated means of making an application workload CA AppLogic-ready."

AppStack provides a software platform for enterprise application orchestration on top of CA AppLogic. Through a unique data model-driven approach, AppStack can automate any application into any cloud, from simple stacks to complex multi-tier enterprise apps, and even large-scale distributed apps such as found in today's Big Data world. By capturing and assembling these apps in its dynamic Configuration Repository, AppStack can fully automate the provisioning of apps into cloud environments such as CA AppLogic, and also provide runtime point-and-click management of these apps through the AppStack Portal over the duration of the application lifecycle. This eliminates the need for any low-level coding or scripting as may be required by server template based solutions.

"Complexity has stalled many organizations from moving their critical enterprise apps into the cloud, and made it harder for service providers to get them there," said John Yung (News - Alert), CEO and founder, Appcara. "We are thrilled to work with CA to provide a simple point-and-click solution for onboarding and managing these complex applications into CA AppLogic cloud environments, so users can reap the full efficiency and cost benefits of cloud deployment."

Appcara will demonstrate AppStack on AppLogic at CA World 2013 at the Mandalay Bay convention center in Las Vegas, April 21-24, 2013 in the AppLogic Pavilion. AppStack is also available for free trial download at www.appcara.com/trial.
