Elektrobit opens new office in Brasov, Romania


Apr 17, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Elektrobit, or EB, a developer of embedded technology solutions for the automotive and wireless industries, has opened a new office in Brasov, Romania.

The company is planning to grow the local team to more than 100 software developers over time. The Brasov office will focus on automotive software product development and testing. Christian Drothler has been appointed as managing director of EB Automotive Romania SRL. He previously was responsible for managing ECU (Electronic Control Units) development and customer projects at EB in Germany.

"With the office opening in Brasov, Romania, EB expands its engineering operations to Eastern Europe, and plans to generate over 100 jobs for software development engineers in the region with a focus on navigation and ECU software and testing", said Drothler. "Our goal is to create a strong development and testing base for our products, and place EB as one of the major companies providing employment opportunities in Brasov." "As a software product development and engineering services company, our presence in the automotive centers, and at the key employment markets for hiring smart, knowledgeable engineers, has always been a key consideration for us", said Gregor Zink, vice president of EB Automotive Support Functions and Managing Director of Elektrobit Automotive GmbH. "We believe that Brasov, Romania represents a very good market for attracting new employees", continued Zink.
