Mechanicsville man pleads guilty to child porn charges

Apr 16, 2013 (Richmond Times-Dispatch - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Mechanicsville man who connected to the Internet using a neighbor's Wi-Fi router pleaded guilty in federal court this morning to distribution of child pornography.

David Edward Sleezer, of the 8200 block of J David Lane, is facing no fewer than five years and no more than 20 years in prison when sentenced July 18 by U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson.

In pleading guilty under a plea agreement, Sleezer admitted using the wireless router of a neighbor across the street to access the Internet to download and distribute pornographic material involving children.

Last October, an undercover FBI agent attempting to catch someone distributing child pornography download two movies from a computer traced to a home on J David Lane.

However, when authorities obtained a warrant and searched the home where the suspect computer was located in November no pornography was found.

Instead, investigators discovered another computer, owned by Sleezer, was using the router. When agents arrived to search his home in January it was discovered running and connected to his neighbor's wireless router.

Child pornography was found on the computer and on a thumb drive found at his home including a video downloaded from Sleezer by the FBI in October.
