EOIR Technologies Reports Dr. Bruce Swett's Appointment to Army Science BoardApr 16, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- EOIR Technologies, Inc., a portfolio company of The White Oak Group, announced that Dr. Bruce Swett, Ph.D., Senior Director of EOIR's Advanced Research Group (ARG), was appointed as a Consultant for the Army Science Board (ASB) on March 14, to serve a 1-year term. Peter Cannito, EOIR's Chief Operating Officer, made the announcement. "Dr. Swett's selection to the ASB demonstrates EOIR's technical leadership in the areas of Cloud computing and scalable data analytics for our Department of Defense customers," said Cannito. According to a release, Dr. Swett is the Cloud architect for a number of technologies related to pattern recognition and analysis of Web-scale datasets and is responsible for technical leadership, project management, and business development for the ARG. His areas of expertise include high-performance Cloud computing, parallelized artificial intelligence algorithms, scalable data models, and fusion of large volumes of data. Dr. Swett is the Principal Investigator for automated full motion video analytics in the Army's Cloud computing environment and is the author of a number of peer-reviewed papers. He is also certified as both a Cloudera Hadoop Developer and Administrator. The ASB is an independent, objective senior scientific advisory group that makes recommendations to the Secretary of the Army, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, and major Army commanders on scientific and technological matters of concern to the Army.
