Samsung and PureHD Supply In-Room Entertainment Technologies at Radisson Blu Mall of AmericaApr 12, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Samsung Electronics America, a display company and provider of consumer electronics, and PureHD, a supplier of digital high-definition television solutions, announced the launch of the first Samsung North American IPTV and interactive services enabled hotel, the Radisson Blu Mall of America, which celebrated its grand opening on March 15. Samsung and PureHD outfitted the hotel's 517 guest rooms with Samsung's 40" Class 790 Series and 46" Class 590 Series Hospitality LED TVs and Samsung LYNK SINC, a robust, secure and cost effective content management solution. These technology advancements enable Radisson Blu to elevate guests' in-room entertainment experience, keeping in line with the vision for its newest property. In each Radisson Blu Mall of America guest room, the company noted, interactive hotel content is seamlessly integrated through a fully converged IP infrastructure into nearly 70 channels of crystal clear high-definition programming delivered by PureHD from Verimatrix to the newest Samsung smart HDTV models. This enables the hotel to take control of their guest room televisions and deliver a branded message with customized information that is controlled and managed by the hotel staff, rather than a third party company. It also provides hotel staff with a solution for managing and updating interactive content, such as room service, local attractions and hotel amenities, and enables them to push instantaneous updates of information and content to guests during their stay. "Hotel guests today have high expectations when it comes to the in-room entertainment experience," said Jonas Tanenbaum, vice president sales and marketing, Hospitality TV at Samsung Electronics America, Inc. "With the first US implementation of Samsung LYNK SINC we are furthering our commitment to delivering the industry-leading entertainment technologies that cater to guest needs, as well as providing the solutions that help make managing these technologies easier and more cost effective for our hotelier customers." "PureHD is pleased to be part of this giant step forward with Samsung on the ability for hoteliers to control and manage their interactive television environments," said Thomas Pullen, president of PureHD. "For this hotel to go live it took an unprecedented collaboration between Samsung, Carlson-Rezidor and PureHD and I commend the teams on this great success. PureHD serves the first Radisson Blu hotel in North America, the Chicago Aqua property with over 60 HD channels and we are pleased to continue to provide the Radisson Blu brand with a state-of-the-art high-definition television experience."
