Skanska Selects Accenture to Implement Oracle Fusion Applications to Improve Business Operations, Reduce Costs

STOCKHOLM --(Business Wire)--

Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has been awarded a framework agreement to deliver management consulting and technology application services to Skanska Sverige AB, the project development and construction group. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Through the three-year framework agreement, Accenture (News - Alert) will work with Skanska to implement new Oracle Applications to support Skanska in human resources, finance and accounting, business analytics and operations. The program will support Skanska's plans to deliver increased operational efficiencies, reduce technology costs and better manage the project portfolio.

The applications will be built on Oracle (News - Alert) technology and include Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 and Oracle Hyperion. Accenture will provide its Oracle Fusion Middleware accelerator, the Accenture Foundation Platform for Oracle, to jump start the build out of development environments for the project.

In addition to systems integration services for Oracle Fusion Applications and the Oracle E-Busines Suite, Accenture will offer change management and end-user training services to support the implementation.

"By selecting Accenture we will have access to the skills and expertise necessary to meet the future information technology delivery requirements of our approximately 10,000 end users in Sweden," said Charlotta Gren, Program Manager at Skanska. "Accenture has the relevant experience, the intellectual capital in terms of methods and procedures, operational expertise and resource capabilities, and brings a significant commitment to our success. We look forward to the common journey we have ahead of us."

In a new report, Achieving High Performance in the Construction Industry, Accenture argues that construction companies seeking to take full advantage of the opportunities emerging from the growth in urbanization, globalization and infrastructure renewal will require new business approaches. Market-leading companies will need to learn how to better position themselves to manage the supply side and capture the increased demand.

Carl-Peter Thorwid, managing director of Accenture in Sweden, said: "Global construction companies need to be exceptionally agile, efficient and customer-focused to compete successfully with increasingly powerful emerging-market players and achieve high performance in the construction markets of the future. We are pleased to have been selected by Skanska to develop and implement one of the broadest Oracle Fusion Applications installations in the world. Skanska is among a growing cadre of Accenture clients interested in the design and implementation of SaaS (News - Alert) and on-premise versions of Fusion Applications."
