Calysta Energy Adds Craig Barratt to Board of Directors


Mar 22, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Calysta Energy announced Craig H. Barratt, Ph.D. has been elected to the company's Board of Directors.

According to a release, Dr. Barratt, a consumer electronics entrepreneur, is the former president of Qualcomm Atheros, the network and connectivity subsidiary of Qualcomm. Calysta is using natural gas as a new biological feedstock for cost competitive, scalable chemicals and biofuels production.

"He is a visionary entrepreneur who knows how to recognize disruptive technology and build valuable companies. As our company enters an important new stage of growth, he will be a valued addition to Calysta." Dr. Barratt joined Qualcomm in 2011. From 2003, he was president, CEO and a director of Atheros Communications, a fabless semiconductor company. He led the company through its 2004 IPO and growth to over $900 million in revenue in 2010, culminating in its 2011 acquisition by Qualcomm.

Dr. Barratt previously served as Atheros' vice president of technology from 2002 until 2003. Prior to joining Atheros, he held the role of executive vice president and general manager of ArrayComm, a company specializing in multi-antenna signal processing.
