(Herald, The (Scotland) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Port of call BUSINESSPort, the management software firm, has appointed David McConachie, right, as its new head of sales.

Mr McConachie has been tasked with leading the company's defence and infrastructure division, which provides software for safety critical sectors around the globe.

Mr McConachie, 48, is responsible for promoting the company's agility business management system in and around Glasgow and Prestwick.

New MD at RMD GAVIN Maxwell has risen to the post of managing director of RMD Power & Cooling after holding a variety of roles with the company over the past 14 years.

Mr Maxwell, who takes over from outgoing MD and company owner John Smykala, has played a key role as Alloa-based RMD has grown from a small electrical distributor to a supplier of integrated power and cooling solutions for data centres.

With demand for RMD's power and cooling systems expected to continue to grow this decade, Mr Maxwell said he aims to "keep the ship steady, continue with the same vision that has brought us success to date and to keep up to date with new technologies and solutions that can bring value to our customers".

In-bound for Inverness INVERNESS Airport Business Park (IABP) has appointed David Hastings, right, the chief executive of Strathleven Generation Company, as chairman.

The appointment comes as IABP works to attract industrial and commercial customers to the site.


Mr Hastings will work with IABP's strategic development partner, Roxhill Developments, which signed a deal to develop phase one of the park in 2011.

Hillington for Cumming MEPC has appointed Jamie Cumming to the role of commercial property director at Hillington Park.

Mr Cumming moves to Hillington, one of Scotland's largest business parks, from Glasgow-based Airlink Group, where he managed property, parking and self-storage assets in his post as director.

Mr Cumming will also be responsible for MEPC's interests in the Clyde Gateway project in the east end of Glasgow.

New arrival at SPEX SPEX Group, the Aberdeen-based provider of engineering solutions for the oil and gas industry, has a new chief operating officer.

Nadir Mahjoub, right, joins SPEX after two decades with Halliburton, where he latterly held the role of Qatar Country Manager.

The appointment comes shortly after the company, whose services include product development, engineering design, machining and testing, recruited Jamie Oag as chief executive.

Oag on board at Drum STUART Oag has joined the board and executive team at Drum Property Group.

Mr Oag has switched to the Aberdeen-based firm, whose interests span commercial and residential property, after holding several director roles in a 15-year spell with Stewart Milne Group.

He said: "My role will complement the expertise of the existing executive team to ensure the group is in a position to deliver new projects, enhance the investment portfolio and successfully fulfil our current position and credibility in the market."
