BRIEF: Infosys signs five-year deal with BMW
BANGALORE, Mar 14, 2013 (Mint - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Infosys Ltd, India's second-largest software exporter, has signed a five-year contract with the world's largest premium car maker BMW Group, as it seeks to expand its footprint in Germany.
Infosys will provide application development and maintenance services for BMW's information technology (IT) operations, including Web infrastructure and SAP-based systems, the company said in a statement on Thursday. It didn't disclose the financial terms.
Infosys said it will open a new delivery centre in Munich for the BMW deal as well as for its own expansion in Germany.
"Infrastructure management is no longer just about short term efficiency and productivity gains. It also requires a partner that can help build an IT organization that is future relevant," said Ashok Vemuri, member of the board and global head of manufacturing and engineering services at Infosys.
