Shasta Ventures Adds 2 Entrepreneurs to Its TeamMar 11, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Shasta Ventures, a boutique, early-stage venture firm investing its third fund in consumer technology and enterprise start-ups, announced the firm has appointed Jayaram Bhat as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) and Issac Roth as Venture Advisor to its Menlo Park office. "At Shasta we believe in building long-term relationships with our entrepreneurs. The fact that Issac and Jayaram have returned to work with us is testament to our 'founders first' philosophy," says Jason Pressman, Managing Director at Shasta. "We look forward to connecting the founders of our growing companies with these experienced entrepreneurs and company builders who can help advise them along the way." In a release, the company noted: Jayaram Bhat Jayaram Bhat is joining Shasta Ventures to explore new business ideas and assist Shasta in evaluating enterprise companies, especially those that focus on mobile. Jayaram served as CEO of Zenprise, recently acquired by Citrix, since January 2004. He brings more than 32 years of high tech marketing and senior management experience. Prior to Zenprise, Jayaram consulted with CEOs of information technology companies, including VA Software, Tealeaf, Electric Cloud and CenterRun Software. Previously, Jayaram was Vice President of Marketing at Mercury Interactive Corp. Jayaram helped lead Mercury Interactive from $13 million in revenue pre-public company in 1993 to $361 million in revenue in 2001, with a market capitalization of over $6 billion. Jayaram was a member of the board of Electric Cloud and Tealeaf, which was acquired by IBM in 2012. Issac Roth Issac is joining Shasta to assist the firm's enterprise software companies in reaching their next level of success. Issac joins Shasta Ventures from Red Hat where he led a talented team of people in creating OpenShift, Red Hat's Platform-as-a-Service. OpenShift was based on Makara, a Shasta-backed company he co-founded which Red Hat acquired. As leader of development cloud efforts, Issac was instrumental in Red Hat's investments in Appcelerator and 10gen. Prior to founding Makara, he spent five years at Wily Technology and CA Technologies. Earlier in his career, Issac was a founder and early employee of three enterprise infrastructure start-ups.
