Energi Kicks off 6th Annual ICycle Spinning Event for HomeStart, Inc.

PEABODY, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

Employees from Energi, a leading developer and underwriter of energy insurance products, today participated in the ICycle 2013 Fundraiser, a series of outdoor stationary cycle classes for charity held at International Place in Boston. Leading the first hourly session, Energi employees rode from 6:30 to 7:30 am fundraising for HomeStart, Inc. a non-profit dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness in Boston.

Prior to the ride, the Energi team presented a corporate contribution to HomeStart, in addition to fundraising approximately $6,000 for their ride. Most employees surpassed the $250 minimum, taking into consideration that $1,030 enables HomeStart to move an enire family out of a shelter and into a permanent home.

"I'm a frequent spinner, though ICycle was much more than just a regular class. Our employee network went the extra mile and was tenacious in their fundraising efforts as a result of the passion that they have for helping HomeStart reduce homelessness in Boston. This is an event and organization that Energi will continue to support in the future." Ed Scott, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Industry Relations and participant in the Annual ICycle spinning event.

Thirteen Peabody-based Energi employees and strategic partners from Gravoc Associates and Aon Benfield participated in the fundraiser. The session was led by Annie Brown, Energi Strategic Planning Manager, and featured a celebrity guest appearance from Elizabeth Hopkins of Fox 25. Team members from Gravoc Associates also assisted Energi in the design of special company-branded t-shirts.

"We are very grateful to have Energi kick off ICycle," says Linda Wood-Boyle, Executive Director of HomeStart. "They understand its very important meaning-that one or two hours in the cold cannot compare to living without a home. The ICycle event is just one way we can simulate a fraction of the many challenges those struggling with homelessness must face. We're lucky to have friends like them."

Bikes for ICycle 2013 were provided by Fitness International. Corporate teams included Income Research & Management, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, ICON Architecture, Eastern Bank and UBS.
