BRIEF: Integra drops 'Telecom' from its name, introduces new logo [The Oregonian, Portland, Ore.](Oregonian (Portland, OR) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Feb. 27--Integra Telecom said this morning that it's dropping "Telecom" from its name and adopting a new logo, the latest step in the Portland company's ongoing overhaul. Founded in 1996, Integra is one of the biggest companies based in Portland. The company's revenues totaled $594 million last year. It provides phone, Internet and other data services to business customers. But sales have been down in each of the past four years, and Integra has been facing growing pressure from a high debt load and from new competitors. Comcast and local phone companies were encroaching on Integra's traditional market, small and mid-sized businesses. The new name and logo coincide with Integra's efforts to reach a new class of larger, regional customer, said marketing vice president Joseph Harding. "Many of these customers will be introduced to Integra for the first time," he said, giving the company an opportunity to rethink its brand. Earlier this week, the company said it had refinanced $785 million in debt and cut its interest payments by 25 percent.
