Comtech Telecommunications gets $5.0 million optimization order for military network

Feb 27, 2013 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) said that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded a $5.0 million order from a government systems integrator for its turboIP-G2 Performance Enhancement Proxies.

The United States Marine Corps will utilize the Performance Enhancement Proxies in their modular, tactical system to support reliable and high-bandwidth warfighter communications.

The turboIP-G2 Performance Enhancement Proxy was designed with the most effective WAN optimization features to address the unique challenges of satellite communications. The acceleration and caching functionality improve network responsiveness and optimize the user experience. The system's advanced compression techniques minimize the data that traverses satellite links. The turboIP-G2 is standards-based, supporting the Space Communications Protocol Standard Transport Protocol (SCPS-TP), and provides reliable connection-oriented, end-to-end data transfer for user applications.

Comtech Telecommunications designs, develops, produces and markets innovative products, systems and services for advanced communications solutions.
