Havelock High student faces charge of peepingFeb 25, 2013 (Havelock News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Havelock High School student was arrested last week for allegedly placing a cell phone in a bathroom in an attempt to record female students. Demetre Lakwanne Frazier, 18, of Havelock, was charged with secretly peeping into a room occupied by another person, Havelock Police Chief G. Wayne Cyrus said. The charge is a felony. "It was alleged that Mr. Frazier was using his cell phone to record female students in one of the bathrooms at the high school," Cyrus said. Cyrus said that Craven County Sheriff deputies served Frazier with warrants last week. A female student discovered the phone in the bathroom, according to sources. "From what we can tell, it appears as this was a one-time occurrence," Cyrus said. "It doesn't appear to be anything long term." Frazier was released on a $1,000 bond. Craven County District Attorney Scott Thomas said his office filed a motion to have the bond increased because the charge was a felony. Thomas said the motion was scheduled to be heard in court on Monday, but because of a judge's conflict with the case, the case was continued and now will be heard on March 18. ___ (c)2013 Havelock News (Havelock, N.C.)
