Matt McManus, Vice President of Channel Sales and Darius Wilke, Vice President of Channel Program at Fujitsu America Honored With CRN's 2013 Channel Chiefs Award

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/25/13 -- Fujitsu announced today that Matt McManus, vice president of channel sales and Darius Wilke, vice president of channel program, have been named as recipients of CRN's 2013 Channel Chiefs Award. UBM Tech Channel's prestigious list of influential and powerful leaders in the IT channel recognizes those executives directly responsible for driving channel sales and growth within their organizations, while outlining the importance of the channel throughout the entire IT industry.

Both McManus, who has been a recipient of the Channel Chiefs Award in the past four years, and Wilke were recognized as key executives who drove partner and community growth in 2012. McManus, with more than 19 years of channel, marketing and sales experience, was also honored for creating and staffing a new internal inside sales organization to generate leads for solutions providers, and invest in new training methodology. In the last year alone, he increased the company's overall channel partner total by 23 percent.

As Fujitsu redefined its Channel Partner program, previously known as the Accelerator, McManus and Wilke were directly responsible for the launch of the SELECT Partner Program in the United States. This new education-based, Fujitsu global program is now taking place in more than 70 countries, providing reseller partners with access to various benefits depending on their level of certification, which helps stimulate demand. Some of the benefits include access to the Sales Growth Bonus Program (to be launched in April), Quote Desk, product incentives, trainings, Marketing Development Funds and demo units.

Wilke worked the last seven years in international channel and channel-related positions at Fujitsu. He is directly responsible for all channel business development activities and channel programs. He led the redesign of the channel partner portal and the launch of WebArchitect, a new product configuration tool for Fujitsu partners. Wilke initiated the Fujitsu Channel Quote Desk and simplified key processes for partners. Through McManus' and Wilke's vision and leadership, Fujitsu grew enterprise channel sales by 45 percent year over year and VARs by 30 percent, while Fujitsu partners increased education net new accounts by 15 percent.

In the last decade, the CRN editorial team has selected Channel Chief awards recipients based on channel experience, program innovations, channel-driven revenue, and public support for the importance of IT sales.

"The bottom line is that Fujitsu wants to better help its resellers serve their customers," said McManus. "Becoming a CRN Channel Chief highlights our focus on solutions and programs that add value to the industry, and are unique from other market offerings." "The 2013 Channel Chiefs list recognizes vendor executives dedicated to driving channel programs in the IT marketplace," said Kelley Damore, senior vice president, editorial director, CRN. "Our annual Channel Chiefs issue is a must-read for IT solution providers evaluating new vendors or looking to expand solution offerings. These are the people, the products and the programs that any savvy solution provider needs to know. We congratulate this year's Channel Chiefs for their stellar record of business innovation and applaud them for their continued dedication to the partner community." "We are constantly adding to the extensive list of programs and benefits for our partners, striving to increase our partner base, and to inspire the overall sales drive," said Wilke. "The goal is to radically simplify the way we work with our partners and increase our competitiveness and that of our partners. We are honored that the Fujitsu Channel division has been recognized by UBM for our commitment to strengthening our partnerships and inspiring growth." The 2013 Channel Chiefs list is featured in the current issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.crn.com.
