Spirent Intros Solutions to Measure VoLTE and Video Chat Performance

Feb 25, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Spirent Communications, a provider of testing wireless networks, services and devices, announced a new capability to measure VoLTE and Video Chat performance as experienced by mobile subscribers.

The Company reported that this latest addition to Spirent's portfolio of live network and lab-based testing solutions not only rates the mobile experience, but also provides the industry with tools to optimize and improve the performance of VoLTE and Video Chat service offerings on wireless networks and devices.

According to a release, Spirent's Nomad solution for voice quality and Chromatic solution for video performance enable measurement of these next generation services in experience programs such as Spirent Fit4Launch and Insights. Uniquely, Spirent integrates the same tools with its CS8 and 8100 device test solutions for lab-based assessment of the mobile experience, making it possible to capture and analyze the same metrics in both lab and live network environments. Spirent also provides an additional dimension to testing by deriving application-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from IP logs - a capability that enables correlation of the subscriber experience with the underlying data delivery behavior.

"With more voice and video services shifting to LTE networks, Spirent understands the importance and urgency of assessing end-user quality of experience," said Spirent vice president Nigel Wright. "The acquisition of Metrico Wireless last year, added to our already-wide portfolio of test systems, has enabled us to offer tailored solutions to address this critical industry need."
