GOOGLE TO HOST 'VIRGINIA GET YOUR BUSINESS ONLINE' EVENT IN ROANOKEFeb 15, 2013 (Congressional Documents and Publications/ContentWorks via COMTEX) -- ROANOKE - Congressman Bob Goodlatte released the following statement announcing that Google is bringing its Virginia Get Your Business Online program to Roanoke on February 19th at the Taubman Museum of Art. Participants may attend either the 9AM or 12:30PM session. All participants must register to attend this free event at www.VirginiaGetOnline.com. Google experts will be on hand to help local small business owners create their own websites courtesy of Intuit and train them on how to reach more customers online. "I am pleased Google has responded to my request that this great program be offered to Roanoke and Southwest Virginia small businesses," said Congressman Bob Goodlatte. "Over the next three years, businesses that utilize the web expect to grow 40 percent faster than those that don't. Innovation will continue to play a large role in job creation and economic growth. Getting small businesses online is key in ensuring competitiveness in today's growing online marketplace. This event will provide small businesses in the Roanoke area with helpful information on expanding their online presence." Virginia Get Your Business Online is an easy and fast way for Virginia businesses to get a website and become more visible online, where the majority of people are going to find goods and services. While 97 percent of Internet users look online for local products and services, 45 percent of Virginia small businesses do not have a website or online presence.
