ICS Software's Patient Portal Ready for SammyEHR CustomersOceanside, NY, Feb 11, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- ICS Software has released their highly anticipated patient portal. The portal's virtual connection between a doctor's office and their patients will streamline the office's efficiency and make patients more cognizant of their own healthcare. The patient portal will create a HIPAA compliant link between a patient and his/her doctor, making intake forms, clinical summaries and patient health records available with the click of a button. All the patient needs to do is log into the office's webpage and put in their personal password. As with all of ICS' other products that travel through public networks, the patient portal will maintain the highest possible encryption level. "All of us are in this together," said Ken Katz, President of ICS Software. "And we need to educate the patients so that they can participate in their care. For Stage 1, our portal puts the patient in communication with his/her doctor making the experience pleasurable and secure. For Stage 2 it will include secure email directly with the office without utilizing any expensive third party application." Meaningful Use requires that a doctor provide a clinical summary within 3 business days of the date of service, and for doctors who can't give them to the patient during the visit the office would upload it to the patient portal with one click. Meaningful Use also requires that a patient's medications, allergies, height, weight, etc. be input into the system. This is information that the patient can fill out prior to the visit, so the patient will be ready to see the doctor as soon as he or she walks through the door. Moving forward, Stage 2 of Meaningful Use (we are still currently in stage 1) will rely heavy on the patient portal, so the inception of this feature is vital to current and potential customers of ICS.
