Outdoor Channel and InterMedia Name New Board Members

Feb 08, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Outdoor Channel Holdings and InterMedia Outdoor Holdings announced that Bridget Baker and Jonathan Adelstein will serve on the Board of Directors of InterMedia Outdoor Holdings, following the completion of the merger of Outdoor Channel and IMOH, the primary shareholder of The Sportsman Channel and InterMedia Outdoors.

According to a release, the addition of Baker and Adelstein bring the number of proposed directors of IMOH Inc. to nine. The merger of Outdoor Channel and IMOH is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2013.

"Bridget and Jonathan bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our board," said Peter Kern, Managing Partner of InterMedia Partners VII, LP, and Chairman of InterMedia Outdoor Holdings, Inc. following the completion of the merger. "Bridget has tremendous applicable expertise from her long and successful career with NBCUniversal while Jonathan brings valuable perspective and unique experience gained during two terms as a Commissioner of the Federal Communication Commission ("FCC"). We believe both Bridget and Jonathan will be invaluable additions to the Board following the completion of our merger. We will benefit from their significant content, regulatory and distribution experience as we bring together Outdoor Channel, The Sportsman Channel and InterMedia Outdoors' leading print and digital media assets and execute on our future growth opportunities." "These companies serve a large market of passionate outdoor enthusiasts across multiple media platforms," said Baker, a native of Alaska. "The combination of these two organizations offers compelling growth opportunities and I am thrilled to bring my content and distribution expertise to the Board and build upon the leadership position of IMOH Inc. in the outdoor category." "I look forward to joining the Board of Directors of IMOH Inc. and working with the combined organization's strong management team to maximize the growth opportunities ahead," said Adelstein. "The combination of the two companies will create a robust multi-platform leader in the outdoor category and I am excited to leverage my decades of experience and help drive it forward." Outdoor Channel said Baker played a key role in developing NBCUniversal's cable assets from their inception, expanding from the 1989 launch of CNBC to eventually include 18 national cable networks, such as Bravo, CNBC, E!, Golf Channel, MSNBC, Syfy, and USA, delivered to hundreds of millions of subscribers. Baker was NBCUniversal's President of TV Networks Distribution, a position she held from 2006 to 2012. As NBCUniversal President of TV Networks Distribution, Baker oversaw the North American distribution of NBCUniversal's content across the cable, satellite and telecommunications industry. Baker has been noted with numerous industry accolades including the National Cable Television Association's highest honor in 2012: the "Vanguard Award for Distinguished Leadership." Adelstein has served as President and CEO of PCIA - The Wireless Infrastructure Association, the trade association representing the companies that own, build, manufacture, or operate wireless telecommunications infrastructure, since 2012. Prior to PCIA he served as the Administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service. From 2002 to 2009, Adelstein served two terms as a Commissioner of the FCC. Before joining the Commission, Adelstein held a number of senior staff positions in the U.S. Senate.
