BRIEF: Utility Authority opts not to hire interim directorGULFPORT, Feb 07, 2013 (The Sun Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Members of the Harrison County Utility Authority board voted Thursday morning to advertise for a permanent director instead of hiring an interim person. Last week, the board fired long-time director Kamran Pahlavan because he allowed a contractor with the authority to finance a car for him. Thursday, board members went into closed session to talk about candidates for an interim director but decided instead to draw up qualifications for a permanent director and begin advertising. Once the position is advertised, candidates will have 30 days to submit proposals and then the board will vote.
