Verizon activates 4G LTE network on six sites in Steuben county, NY

Feb 01, 2013 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- US wireless communication services company Verizon Wireless announced on Thursday the activation of new 4G LTE coverage on six sites in Steuben county, New York.

These new 4G LTE sites are located in Bath (two), Campbell (two), Dansville and Hornell.

This activation expands and fills in coverage on the company's 4G data network it launched locally in June 2012.

Verizon said that two years after its launch, its 4G LTE network is available to over 273 million people across the US. The company's 4G LTE network offers 10 times faster than 3G networks.

Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) (Nasdaq:VZ) and Vodafone (LSE:VOD)(Nasdaq:VOD).
