The weekly rankings are selected by a panel of NHL scouts. The WHL is well represented with Portland, Kelowna (No. 4), Edmonton (No. 6) Calgary (No. 9) and Kamloops (honorable mention). Portland acting coach Travis Green commented on the No. 1 designation a few hours before the Hawks' game with Kamloops at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
