Comments on RIM Blackberry 10 Launch by Jeff Kagan Wireless Analyst

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 30, 2013 Rim introduced Blackberry 10 this morning. The following are a few comments on the event and the launch by Tech Analyst Jeff Kagan.

“Blackberry is not too late. While more than 90 percent of the smartphone market may have already chosen either an Apple iPhone or Google Android, but that's really because there were no really good competitors. This new Blackberry will be a strong competitor for the number three position. They won't come close to number one or two where Google and Apple are, but the market does want more choices.” Says Wireless Analyst Jeff Kagan.

“Coming to this event I believe everyone was asking if this was going to be Blackberry's turnaround moment or the beginning of the end. I think everyone was impressed so far. That is good news for Blackberry at this early stage. Renaming the company to Blackberry from RIM was a stroke of genius. Something they should have done years ago.” Says Kagan.

“The devices look very attractive. 70 thousand Apps is very impressive to start. There were plenty of very interesting features that users will really like and that they cannot get on other smart phones yet. The next big question is simple. Is it enough ” asks Kagan.

“I see Blackberry growing over the next several quarters as their user base get's their hands on this new and innovative device. What's next, long term This is the first step in Blackberry's recovery and I think they did a good job so far, but there are still so many more steps. We'll have to wait and see, but so far, so good.” Says Kagan.
