BRIEF: Samsung acquires Danvers-based NeuroLogica


Jan 28, 2013 (Boston Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, said today it has acquired medical imaging equipment company NeuroLogica of Danvers.



Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2004, NeuroLogica is known for its portable computer tomography scanners, including BodyTom and CereTom.


"The acquisition of NeuroLogica is another important step in the expansion of Samsung's medical imaging business and is a testament to our shared vision for a better and more complete health-care experience," said Tod Pike, senior vice president at Samsung's Enterprise Business Division. "We are committed to further strengthening our capabilities and products to help establish Samsung as a trusted leader in the health and medical equipment industry." Samsung said it plans to leverage its global brand awareness and technology in consumer electronics, IT and communications with NeuroLogica in order to expand its medical imaging business.
